Currituck County 4-H is hosting 8 sessions of the “Drone Zone” . This highly interactive workshop will provide 4-H youth ages 8-13 the opportunity to program and fly a mini drone through an obstacle course using the Parrott Mambo indoor mini drone. This drone can be driven using the smartphones or programmed using online coding software. Participants will learn the safety protocols for indoor flight, basic flight terminology and concepts, block-based drone coding, and how to use a smartphone app to control the drone movements.
Beginner
Sessions 1-5 are open to any fully enrolled 4-H youth ages 8-13. These sessions will cover flight controls using basic programming software and the smartphone app, flight terminology and safety protocols for drone operations. Each os these sessions are exactly the same so find the one that fits your schedule and sign up today.

Intermediate
Sessions 7-9 will provide more advanced block coding and app control techniques and will utilize a multi-dimensional timed obstacle course designed to incoporate addtional skill development. The pre-requisite for these sessions is participation in one of the basic sessions.
