Drone Launch Live 2023
Join us for an in-person event, Drone Launch Live 2023, happening at 502 East Main Street, Lakeland, Florida, 33801, USA.
This two-day event will have an action-packed schedule where you can practice flying drones with other drone pilots and learn from each other.
Here is our preliminary schedule. Some of this is subject to change, but it should be pretty close:
Friday Schedule:
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Registration and Check-In
Get yourself registered and check-in and meet all the other people attending.
5:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Kick-Off and Networking
Start the event by mingling with fellow drone enthusiasts. This informal gathering allows you to get to know each other, exchange ideas, and share your passion for drones.
6:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Dinner and Hangout
We will be going to The Joinery where you can get your own dinner. There are several great restaurants there so feel free to group up, socialize and enjoy some delicious food.
Saturday Schedule:
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Morning Kick- off
Come together bright and early for a quick meet-up. Meet the event organizers, learn about the day’s agenda, and get ready for an exciting day of drone activities.
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Fly Together Sessions
Practice flying drones with other pilots and share your tips and tricks.
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch
Relax and enjoy your lunch to prepare for the rest of the activities.
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Processing and Editing
During this time we will be working through the images, videos and data that you got during the morning flight sessions. Anything from putting together 3D models, processing orthomosaic maps to editing cool drone videos that you got.
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Workshops and Panel Discussions
Engage in interactive workshops and panel discussions led by some of our experts. Dive deep into topics such as photography and cinematography videography, FPV, 3D modeling and more.
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Award Ceremony
We will be giving away some awards to wrap things up.
6:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Food and Hangout
Unwind and enjoy an evening of delicious food, beverages, and casual conversations with fellow attendees. Share stories, exchange ideas, and build connections in a relaxed atmosphere.
Fly Together and Learn Together:
During Drone Launch Live we will offer 3 Fly Together sessions. Each participant can pick 2 sessions to take part in.
1) 3D Modeling and Orthomosaic Mapping:
During this session we will be doing 3D models and creating orthomosaic imagery of either a bridge or a commercial building. Gain hands-on experience using different software tools.
2) Photography and Cinematography Videography:
Learn how to take aerial photos and cinematic videos using your drone. During this session you can practice composition, lighting, camera settings and improve your ability to capture awesome shots.
3) FPV (First-Person View):
Experience flying drones from a first-person perspective. Learn from other FPV pilots about the equipment, flying techniques, safety precautions, and more. Whether you’re a beginner or already have some experience, this session will be great to boost your skills.
Bring whatever drone you have that you’d like to fly.
We will all be flying drones together and learning from each other, sharing our tips and tricks to improve our skills.

If you are flying from other places, it is best to fly into Tampa or Orlando.
If you are flying into Tampa, it will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes to arrive to Lakeland.
If you are flying into Orlando, it will take approximately 60 to 90 minutes to arrive to Lakeland.
